Traditional Bachata Nashville is a home for anyone who wants to learn traditional bachata in a joyful, inclusive community.
We focus on social dance foundations and improvisation, creating a space where dancers of all levels can feel confident and capable on any dance floor.
The Traditional Bachata Experience Nashville Has Been Waiting For
Traditional Bachata Nashville offers something different – a way to learn and experience bachata that is rooted in culture, grounded in rhythm, and centered on real social dance. This is not choreography or performance training. This is the authentic, connected, joy-filled style found in the Dominican Republic.
These curriculums were created with a simple idea in mind: when you go out into the world, you want to make sure you’ve packed a good bag. Social dance works the same way. The more thoughtfully you build what you carry with you, the more confident and grounded you feel on the floor.
We teach through a five-part journey shaped around this approach. You begin with the essential skills that make social dance feel natural — rhythm, timing, connection, and learning how to move with another person. As you continue, we add the tools that help you navigate the floor, refine your movement, find your groove, and eventually improvise with freedom. Our goal is to help you feel grounded, confident, and connected in any social setting.
This approach keeps the focus on authentic social dancing rather than choreography, giving dancers of all levels the confidence to move with ease and connection.
Each series is six weeks long and can be taken individually or as part of a full-year membership. Refer to the drop downs for descriptions and dates.
2026 Class Schedule
Mondays • 7:00–9:30 PM • West Nashville, TN
Each series runs for 6 weeks. Off-Mondays are reserved for occasional guided practices and private lessons.
These series were designed to be taken in succession as a year-long program. Each one builds naturally on the last, creating a smooth and supportive progression for dancers at every level. We encourage joining the full journey for the strongest transformation, but all series can also be purchased individually.
-
January 5 – February 9
This series builds the foundation every social dancer needs.
You will learn how to hear the music, stay on beat, connect comfortably with a partner, and move with confidence in your basic steps.
Expect a strong sense of rhythm, clean timing, and the kind of grounded connection that makes everything else possible. -
March 9 – April 13
Here we expand your movement vocabulary.
You will learn the core steps, directions, turns, and transitions that show up over and over again in real social dancing.
By the end, you will feel more fluent — able to move around the floor smoothly and respond to the music with ease. -
May 4 – June 8
This series focuses on your body.
We refine your movement mechanics, clean up your footwork, sharpen your clarity, and help you feel more powerful dancing on your own.
This leads to better improvisation, smoother partnering, and more confidence in your personal style. -
June – August
During the summer, we pause our Monday series and offer special opportunities to grow your dancing in other ways.
We host a summer dance team, occasional guided practices, and pop-up workshops focused on musicality, movement, and cultural immersion.
This break creates space for integration, community building, and exploring your dancing outside the weekly structure. -
August 31 – October 5
This is where we simulate the real social dance floor.
You will practice navigating crowded spaces, reading partners, responding to energy shifts, and learning what works (and what doesn’t) in real-time social dancing.
Expect more groove, more expression, and a deeper sense of how to relax into the dance. -
November 2 – December 7
In this final series, we tie everything together.
You’ll learn simple ornaments, timing variations, and creative choices that naturally fit into traditional social dancing — not choreography.
The focus is flow, confidence, and improvisation that feels good to you and your partner.
